silly 2004 summary thing

from [livejournal.com profile] skatche

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Er... the medical exam for immigration?

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't do resolutions.

3. Did someone close to you give birth?
Not that I know of.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
Canada, but that's not unusual for me.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Don't get me started. All the things I've lacked for years, for one thing. To pick one, Beauty. But I expect to lack that forever.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
It's all a blur. I don't remember very much of it at all, much less having any of it "etched on my memory".

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I don't think I acheived anything. Just trundled along.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't think I had any particular failures either.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Well, I had a cold twice...

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Possibly my LCD monitor, although close contenders are my new car and my digital camera.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
[livejournal.com profile] enotsola did awfully well in school.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
No one specific springs to mind. There's the usual vague "most of the people in the US / US government".

14. Where did most of your money go?
Savings, "rent", plane tickets, lodging/con fees.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting the interview waiver.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
Nothing.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you
1. happier or hardened?
I'm hardened in general, but not compared to last year particularly. (Compared to 2000 or 2001, I think, is more like it.)

ii. thinner or fatter?
A bit fatter, especially in the upper thighs.

iii. richer or poorer?
Wealthier certainly, but richer? I dunno.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Living out of this house. :p

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Hmm.. can't think of anything.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Visiting [livejournal.com profile] enotsola in Ontario.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
No, but I already was.

23. Any one-night stands?
LOL. No. I've never had one of those in my life, unless bringing boys home and sleeping next to them counts.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Uhh... MST3K? can I name things that are not even broadcast anymore, even in reruns?

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't have the emotional oomph or desire to hate anyone.

26. What was the best book you read?
Triumph of the Moon.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
None.

28. What did you want and get?
See "things purchased".

29. What did you want and not get?
As with #6, don't get me started.

30. Favorite film of this year?
I'm not sure I sat in a movie theater at all. The last movie I can recall seeing in a theater is The Return of the King.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Nothing special. I was 26 this year. [livejournal.com profile] enotsola was here.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
One thing? I can't possibly pick...

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
My what now?

34. What kept you sane?
Nothing. I'm not.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
You're kidding, right?

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Presidential election, I imagine.

37. Who do you miss?
[livejournal.com profile] enotsola. Some people I haven't seen since high school.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Did I meet anyone new? *scratches head*

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
I don't think I did. Really, this was kind of a nothing year.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
I don't have a big enough library in my head to come up with one. The only things that are coming to mind when I think "quick, song lyrics!" are Weird Al, and none of those apply...

Wow, that was dull and kind of whiny.
