July 2016 Was Earth's Warmest Month on Record (warning: auto-playing video at the link)

NOAA said that July 2016 also marked the 15th consecutive warmest month on record for the globe. [...] This year will likely end up being the earth's warmest year on record, topping both 2015 and 2014.

Records dating to 1880, here. That's 136 years. But there's no such thing as global warming, eh?

Not only was this past July the record-setting month, EVERY month this year has set a record average global temperature.

I liked the way Phil "the Bad Astronomer" Plait put it on Slate: he took the article he wrote for March, about it being the hottest month on record for 6 months in a row, and crossed out the word "March" and replaced it with April.

And then did it again. And again.

So now it looks like:

For the sixth seventh eighth ninth 10^th month in a row, we’ve had a month that has broken the global high temperature record.

According to NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, March April May June July 2016 was the hottest March April May June July on record, going back 136 years. It was a staggering 1.28°C 1.11°C 0.93°C 0.79°C 0.84° C above average across the planet.^* The previous March April May June July record, from 2010 2014 2015 2011, was 0.92° 0.87° 0.86° 0.78° 0.74° above average; the new record beats it by a full tenth of a degree.

Hammering the point home like it deserves.
