For the most part, none of my user pics are associated with any particular mood. When I am feeling amused or making a humorous post or comment, I am somewhat more likely to use the "goth buttercup" pic, but not always. I am more likely to use the "purple sevenstar" on magic- or otherkin-filtered posts, but again, not always.

Default. Keywords: shining woman. This is actually a really recent userpic, as in, within the last week. It's something I cropped out of a book of unicorn art that [livejournal.com profile] windtree gave to me uh... about four and a half years ago (!). I just like the facial expression and the shiny thing next to her.
Keywords: goth buttercup. I just found this on the net somewhere relatively long ago (which is to say: between 2 and 3 years), and Buttercup being my favourite Powerpuff Girl and the one I identify with the most, I was quite taken with this picture and yoinked it.
Keywords: light dancer. This one is from a Gilbert Williams piece of artwork. This is the most "spiritual", or "light" or "uplifting" of my pics, which I think is a function of the shininess of the figure and the fact that she (?) appears to be moving, juggling or balancing stars.
Keywords: wild violet. This is Amy Brown work. I like violets very much. This faery looks sassy. I went by "violet" or "wild violet" for a brief period of time. You get the idea.
Keywords: neopets faerie. This is one of several vaguely similar icons (no others of which now exist) where I took a base image and filled in various areas of it with stars, blues, and purples rather than their original colours. This particular one was a "shopkeeper" on Neopets which I'm not sure exists any longer; I think it was labeled as a "casual" (i.e. shirt and pants rather than dress) of their Faerie Queen character. When I first posted this icon, I seem to recall that a few people remarked that it actually looked like me, which I suppose is subjective.
Keywords: liselotte blue 80s faerie. This is a drawing by [livejournal.com profile] liselotte_e, which was authorised by her to be used as userpics or similar what-have-yous. I like the kind of tattered, punky/gothy look, and of course the purple, blue and black colour scheme appeals to me very much.
Keywords: me forest "nymph". This was taken from a photograph I took of myself (using the self-timer) partially hiding behind a random redwood tree at Sanborn-Skyline county park (a camping-type park near where I live). There was just something about the expression as I peered out from behind the tree that made it look "nymphish" or "tree-spiritish" to me. The original is black and white; the lavender overlay was applied with Photoshop.
Keywords: night mask. A straightforward, if cropped, b/w picture of myself wearing a mask that is currently sitting on my bookshelf. The only actual occasion that I can recall wearing it for is a party at [livejournal.com profile] tyrsalvia's house.. not last year, but possibly the year before (November 2002?).
Keywords: purple sevenstar. The sevenstar is also known as the Elven or Faerie star. Purple is just a me colour. 'Nuff said, I think.
Keywords: telperion. A small cropped bit from a lovely rendition of the Two Trees from the Silmarillion, Laurelin and Telperion, that I have lurking on my hard drive somewhere. No clue where I found it on the net; possibly at Elfwood or Epilogue?
Keywords: hollow eyes. This pic is taken from a Marc Potts painting. I am not sure if the gender of the subject was even defined in the original, and in some ways I think that applies well to me. This pic particularly speaks of "deep" (as opposed to "wide") Faery to me.
Keywords: winged me. This is slightly cropped out of a project I did for my Photo 100 class in college. If you can't tell, it's my own back with butterfly wings applied.
Keywords: square. About the most "frivolous" of my pics; this was screencapped out of one of the visualizations in Winamp 5, and then Photoshopped to be purple instead of yellowish-green.
Keywords: single star. This is cut out of a Jay Burch painting the same as my defualt picture is, but far less recognizable in this case. I just identify with stars, that's all. Not sure if there's a real situational difference between this one and the next one.
Keywords: starry sky. Similar idea to the above, but this is cut from a screencap of the Lucasfilm game Loom, which is one of my favourite computer games of all time.
