college choices

Besides the large percentage of entries in the jargon file which have their origins at MIT, this really kinda makes me wish I hadn't ignored their pursuit of me in high school as female-with-good-math-and-science-grades. Of course, winding up at Sac State after two years at De Anza was instrumental in making me the person I am today (somewhat in the vein of what penguinboi said in this entry)... but in an objective sense, come on. *does scales pantomime with hands* Sac State, or MIT? Sac State, or MIT?

Seems like they took fish that didn't glow and made them glow by adding DNA from fish that did, basically. A comment on alt.gothic was to the effect of "shouldn't they be spending this research to correct a disease or debilitating condition, or something?"
