I always seem to read an awful lot when I'm at [livejournal.com profile] enotsola's house. For example, during the past slightly-less-than three weeks, I have read Lid off the Cauldron, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Neverwhere, Good Omens, about one third of Earth Light, and the latter half of The City of Gold and Lead. This last was full of almost-maddeningly almost-familiar passages and images, since I had last read it some fifteen years ago.

It is striking me as odd that I can state a number of years like that and not be referring to my infancy or toddlerhood (I was 10, and in grade six). My sense of self has perpetually been at 17 since I turned that age shortly after graduating from high school. The face I carry around in my head is that seen in the senior-year portrait, which was actually taken at the start of that school year, when I was barely 16. It is thus often a source of surprise and not infrequently of disappointment to look in the mirror and see a 25-year-old face looking back. In a similar (and depressing) fashion, my upper body appears to have chosen 13 as its desired age to be stuck at, whereas the lower half has continued merrily on to 25 and doesn't show any signs of stopping there. But I digress...

1. Are you going to school this year?

Well, I work at a community college, so I do go to a school every day, but not in the sense of being a student, no.

2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate?
I graduated from CSU Sacramento (BA, Art Studio, Summa cum Laude) in June of 2000.

3. What are/were your favorite school subjects?
Hrm... comparative religion. Photography. Art history. I guess I never really liked most of the subjects (though sometimes I liked the teachers, and therefore the class was fun), I was just good at learning and school. *shrugs*

4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects?
Mathematics, especially analytic geometry, although I enjoyed calculus and found it surprisingly simple once I got the whole idea. PE.

5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite?
The two (three) that really stick out in my mind are my junior-year American History/Literature teachers, and my college calculus teacher. All three of them had genuine enthusiasm for their subject and for teaching, and had friendly, laid-back personalities and classroom manner.
