transfixed by shininess

I want one of these (although actually the one we saw at the shop didn't have the temperature gauge, which is fine with me), with one of these or these, and one of these (and maybe a couple more at the back, in blue), and one of these. Not because I have a computer which justifies such shiny fanciness (a paltry 1-gig single? pah!), but just because I like shiny fanciness.

The Rabbit's Foot "Mead of Poetry" was fine, but I don't think I can honestly say it was worth its $70-per-750ml price tag. It was exceptionally smooth; you hardly felt it in your mouth. The flavour was subtle and grew on you, as did the warmth when you swallowed. But overall, I would say that I enjoy the regular dry mead 65-75% as much, for 15% of the cost ($13 for 750ml). I don't feel that it was a waste of money, but to paraphrase evergrey, it was no Odin-vomit.

saving a few trees

Just signed up for online statements and online bill pay for my two credit cards and one of my two Wells Fargo accounts. Still want to get my cancelled checks* back so I have to stay with paper statements on the checking account. Wonder if I can get online statements from Commonwealth. Still, yay for saving a few trees (although I'm still printing payment confirmations for my own protection).

* "colour" and "flavour" and "honour" are natural. "cheque" is freakish.
