Oct. 17th, 2005 04:37 pmA few months ago, I discovered a folder full of $100 gift cards from Barnes and Noble in one of my file cabinets. These had been collected over some period of time as one of the alternatives offered to patrons in lieu of paying for lost books. Through the personnel changes in my position over the past few years they had been forgotten about, but were still good. Last Friday three of the librarians took a trip to B&N and came back with quite a haul. One of the titles someone chose was Our Dumb Century: 100 Years of Headlines from America's Finest News Source, said news source being The Onion. Of course, it's all funny, but I think this page has got to be the, er, fucking funniest: HOLY SHIT - MAN WALKS ON FUCKING MOON.

*giggles*
(for the uninformed, "loonie" is a slang term for the gold-coloured Canadian one-dollar coin, which has a loon (the bird, that is) on the reverse side.)
