arethinn: glowing green spiral (amalthea (resonance))
I've just given my official "last day" date to my dean. The plan I worked out last night after days of headache called for April 6th. While I was in the mailroom staring at the wall calendar thinking about how long that would leave between last day of work and the date called for the actual move (send my stuff on the truck on the 4th of May, fly to land on the 5th - this is not set in the sense of having made any plane reservations yet, but should be within a day or two of that), I thought well... 4 weeks is kind of a long time to be not doing much of anything (and not making any income either). By this point I just need to allow myself time to pack and construct the goods-to-follow list while doing so. Three weeks should be plenty, since I packed that amount of stuff in about two days when I moved back from Sacramento. So let's pick April the 13th.

So what is this date when I look at my desk calendar, which has moon phases? The full moon. The 5th of May is when the Sun is at 15 degrees Taurus, aka "astrological Beltaine". My stuff would be arriving somewhere about the 11th or 12th of May, aka "Beltaine old style" and also the next full moon (late on the night of the 12th).

I was aware of the Beltaine connection but I hadn't noticed the rest of it and certainly wasn't thinking about it when I made this last-minute decision to work another week. It was all about the time and the money (a week's pay for me is a significant amount of cash). whee!

Last night dream bits:

a windchime.

Alexander Siddig (aka Siddig El Fadil, aka Dr. Bashir from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), except his hair had gone all steel gray and he had grown a scruffy, but full (rather than goatee) salt-and-pepper beard. I encountered him in some public place, stared at him for a bit before recognition clicked, and said "You're Dr. Bashir, aren't you?" He laughed and said that he was, but that his name was "now info-K[something]". In another bit I was looking at a list of character and actor names and there he was with that odd name, and there was another person whose name also started with (lowercase) "info-". weird.

Just before drifting off I also had an odd burst of self-interpretation of my astrological chart - "odd" because I have no training in this so would normallty never attempt it, and was just synthesizing bits of what I do know into a result that is probably talking out of the ass.. but who knows.
