Cats

My husband and I watched a DVD of Cats last night, which I had never seen before. And. Um. It... wasn't really all that good? Maybe it would have been different if we'd seen a live performance, but I dunno, the music just seemed kind of... tacked on and strange, and I came away feeling that I liked Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats better just as a collection of poems. (And I kept hearing echoes of The Phantom of the Opera in one of the songs, but I guess that's not terribly surprising; it was just sort of distracting.)
