Jun. 17th, 2018 09:18 pmThe other night I tried to slightly adjust the height of my desk chair and apparently I managed to get the button (?), or whatever it is at the top of the pneumatic cylinder that the adjustment lever presses on to make it work, stuck down, so now it won't hold any height and the lever just wobbles loosely in its slot under the seat because there's no pressure against it from underneath. All the internet tells me as far as fixes seems to be for a cylinder that gradually sinks (which isn't exactly the problem here) and amount to 1. buy a new cylinder or 2. put a rigid pipe/tube in so it's always at a fixed height. I may eventually resort to the latter, but is there maybe, possibly any way I could get the thing unstuck? I've tried gently tapping it sideways with a mallet and broad screwdriver, and holding it upside down and jerking it (hurr hurr), but no dice.
