Ok.. this BayCon 2004 "Progress Report" I got in the mail today shows that someone isn't very on the ball. Let's skip the fact that I got two of them (waste of paper and postage, that; wonder if everyone did?), and go straight to the amusing mistakes.
1. Apparently BayCon 2004 is being held on May 28-31, 2001. Maybe one of the Guests of Honour is Doctor Who and they're just not telling us?
2. To avoid disappointment, it seems that one should be sure to make their room reservation at the hotel no later than June 1, 2004. What is this, Milliways? "You can book retrospectively, as it were, when you return to your own time"?
In a similar vein, someone had posted a flyer in the hallway calling for extras for some kind of film shoot (probably someone's final project for the quarter). Prospects were directed to call a certain phone number in advance to sign up, because they wouldn't take anyone who showed up "unanimously".
