For those not in the know, this is the final step of all final steps. They are requesting my passport to stamp a special stamp in it that lets me stay in Canada forever and ever. The rest is logistics (moving, etc).
YAY!! Congratualtions!! I know this is something you have been working towards for quite some time. I will be VERY sad to see you go, but I am happy for the fact that you have almost reached an important goal of yours.
I'm planning to work my current job through the end of Winter quarter (Mar 31) and will probably be here for a couple months after that. I have to "land" by May 26th (I think it is?) but many people go back to their home countries for a few months after official paperwork "landing", to tie things up, and I will probably do the same. So I probably won't be "gone" until summerish. But whee! Thank you!!
Laybrinth on the 15th? I was going to do more work towards this, but now I think a celebratory is in order, if it's possible to do a celebratory labyrinth. :)
Yup, there should be a labyrinth walk that night, as long as I can find a co-host. I did it by myself once and it was kinda creepy being in the church alone. I'll let you know as soon as I find out for sure!
My mom is all like, "If you're going to Canada, then I'm going to Canterbury!" and I'm like um... that's its own immigration procedure, and I have NO idea what the ones for the UK are like... I think she was being facetious, but I bet she wouldn't turn down a visa if someone were just handing one to her.
Walking labyrinths, huh? Why would you do a silly thing like that? ;)
Which church do you go to for that? I know there's Grace Cathedral in SF, and there's at least one in the South Bay, but I don't remember which it is any more.
This is at the Unitarian church at 160 N. 3rd St. (I think that's right) in San Jose. It's indoors, laid in the carpet, so don't make the mistake I did in December and dress as though it had been outside. >_< 6-8 PM I think is the time, although it's "open house" so showing up after 6 is perfectly fine.
No need sweetling. Just keep an eye out for black label agwa and bundaberg OP rum when you finally move up there.
And now that your trials and tribulations are over regarding this ... send some mojo my way so I can get this drunken assclown of a judge to stop fucking with my paperwork.

You getting your immigration approved ... or ...
Me finally getting officially recognized as a member of my nation.
You win.
