eep! Granted, I haven't seen your folks since we were kids, but that's still a scary mental image. Don't they have an a/c unit in the back wall of the living room? *gropes through old memories*

Yes, and also smaller units in my bedroom and his, but they really don't make the house as cool as he'd like on their own. We don't have central air and the walls aren't insulated, so keeping it down to 68 or something is just out of the question.
