I don't get it. What's so special about most Photoshop brushes that you have to download them (and be protective of them if you've made them)? As far as I can tell, making a brush is as easy as:

1. Make a cool scribble.
2. Select Edit > Define Brush Preset...
3. Profit!

I mean, unless I were doing a theme where I wanted a whole series to have an identical element -- and you know, you can achieve the same thing by simply copying a layer or bundle of layers from one document to another -- it would seem to me that using a brush would give an undesirable monotony to the decorative aspects of one's icons, and that it would be better (art-ethically) to do each one by hand, so each one would be its own little craftwork (Kraftwerk?).

This is not really a slam on people who DO do this, I just don't get why brush packages and stuff are so hip that there are entire communities just for that.
