I gave a gift to someone else who posted one of these (shh, you know who you are), so I figure it's okay to post, even if I feel kind of funny about it.
Make a post with a list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
So, um. Here goes.
1. A pair of 10-eye Docs, black (duh?), "greasy" finish, size 5 (UK).
2. Extended/special/whatever they're called editions of the Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire movies.
3. US edition of Deathly Hallows.
4. Sheet sterling silver, about 5 inches diameter, of a gauge thin enough to hammer around a form but thick enough that I can't bend it with just my hands (maybe 18ga? I think that's what my ring is).
5. Some beeswax votive candles.
6. A blue goldstone star (like on this page http://www.rocksandcreations.com/pages/stars.htm).
7. These yoga pants, size medium.
8. Some Glowbys, blue, violet, green, and/or white.
9. Either a standard 3 1/2 inch floppy drive, or CD-RW drive, with a black face.
10. Some Rifftrax (I'm not sure if these are transferable? Do they have some kind of DRM going on?). Films I have: Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Independence Day, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,Star Trek V, Star Trek VI, Star Trek: Generations, Fellowship of the Ring, The Matrix [I broke down and got these], Plan 9 (...why? does it need it?).
