My problem with Laurell K. Hamilton isn't what she writes about but how she writes. I read Guilty Pleasures and part of Obsidian Butterfly and it was just painful.
When your books read like fanfiction of your own universe, there's a problem.
I haven't actually read any of the Anita Blake stuff, but really the Merry Gentry material is the same with nouns swapped around (i.e., faery sex), so what the hey.
