  1. Four CDs later, a "hard" backup of a lot of crap I would be very annoyed to lose has been accomplished.

  2. Does the suffix --or have any significance in Quenya? Even if not, crossing Quendi (Elvish, "the speakers") with Quendor (as in Zork) is giving me some fairly funny mental images of a talking coconut.

  3. I think I like the Rabbit's Foot dry mead better than the sweet mead, now that I've tasted both.

  4. In other mead news, however: When I went to pick up my order today (I figured, why pay shipping when I live about 15 minutes away from the place), it became apparent that my $35 "Mead of Poetry" was not, in fact, in a full bottle, but in a slender half-bottle (375 ml). (Maybe I didn't read the web page thoroughly enough.) In other words, this is seventy-dollar mead. I mean, I knew it was kind of expensive when I bought it, but I figured it would just be a bit of a luxury. For $70 it better be fucking brilliant..

Dude, unless I personally saw odin vomit it up, I wouldn't spend that kind of money on any "mead of poetry."

LOL well, I doubt I'd ever be.. privileged... to see such a thing since I don't have a personal relationship with the guy. Anyway this is supposed to be the mead equivalent of a vintner's private special reserve kind of thing, "limited edition", all that. $35 I figured it stood a good chance of being worth, based on how I liked their regular stuff. $70 just shocked my little mind. I certainly hope it turns out to be worth it.

Dude, I hope it's the best stuff you've ever had... my favourite is 12 bucks or so a bottle, home-brewed by a guy named Gryphon.

It's not really an -or suffix; it's an -r suffix on the end of a word that already ends in -o. The -r pluralizes it.

So no Zorkish coconuts that speak Elvish? Darn. ^_^

*nods* My favourite up to this point has been Honeyrun's, at about $8 a bottle. The two regular Rabbit's Foot meads (sweet and dry) are $13 - a little pricey, but I think worth it.
