"help me! this kid is going to start chasing me too! oh sweet mother of geese!"
It's funny, though. The geese that wintered in the Sacramento area would honk up a majorly affronted storm if you so much as dared to walk on their riverbank while they were floating in the middle of the American River. These geese were positively serene by comparison and let me get quite close to them, within a few feet. I was pretty surprised when they simply ran away from the kid who was chasing them around and didn't turn on him and start doing threat displays.
Also odd is what they are doing in these pictures (besides sunning themselves). They are not picking through the grass for seeds or insects or anything. They are, in fact, actually grazing. I didn't know geese ate grass. Oh, and they are also leaving lots of grassy goose poop around. But I digress...
