Whee. It's still earlier than I would normally be getting out of bed, although I'd probably be awake by now (especially since on Thursday morning the neighbor's gardeners come, and start using leafblowers at about 9 AM). The interview was brisk and the people very nice and all, but given the amount of public contact with not only high school students, but their parents, combined with an expected 7 or 7:30 AM start time (to match the school hours), they'd have to be offering half again as much pay before I might consider such abuse to be worth the money. If they offer me the position (which I doubt) I'll have to decline. A buck's a buck but I'm just not made for getting up at 6 AM on any kind of regular basis. My body won't do it (or more precisely, I'll start getting delirious).

an alternate and elegant solution would be if a happy, prosperous opportunity arose for Tracy and her fiance, so that I could just settle back into the perfectly good job that I had (that she "won" when I left it, which was only fitting since she had been the casual in that position doing the work before I did, and it was only a fluke of union contract that meant I got it and she didn't in the first place - I don't begrudge her it, I did leave of my own free will, but I sure would like it back).
