I dunno if you actually read the article, but the "could" is a reasonably narrow chance. Still, I was struck (npi) by the name of the object.

well a 1 in 5,500 chance is not nearly narrow enough for me.

However the bit that always makes me '...eeep' is the fact that due to limited resources, manpower and funding we, as a planet, are only significantly watching(ie watching long enough to figure out if something is an e.l.e.) 1 - 3 % of the night sky. Leaving us with plenty more to '...eeep' about.
