January in my neck of the woods (scrapbook album)



Liquidambar trees and a whole bunch of other stuff is budding. Nothing will be in leaf for a couple months yet; the first things are cherry/plum and persimmon blossoms, which arrive somewhere between late January and mid-February depending on the weather. But still. It's about 65F/18C right now and stuff is green (due to rains) and budding. *gloat*

All the grass is starting up here too (everythings budding here too). I love when the green finally conquers the brown from september. This is also the time of year I get to see which trees survived the summer.
