I think I agree with those that have come out of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trailer feeling a little uneasy about how this movie is going to turn out. I'm sure Johnny Depp will be excellent (and come on, that velvet coat and the hat and cane? teh hawtness), but the overall feeling of it is making me go "....uh-HUH."

From the little bits of trailer I've seen, he has a 'manic Ed Wood as Willy Wonka' feel to him, and that was the least jarring bit of things.

I'm not sure I'll like this one much, Sam-I-Am.

As I said in my own journal about this, the trailer made me feel like I had had a chocolate covered acid trip. The film has some amazing visuals already on show but I'm just hoping that they didn't forget to mix in the heart with all of the weirdness and silliness when they made this one.
