The image of my female and male ancestors (symbolized by a single male and a single female, but with some wispy bits trailing back behind them in vague person form) standing right behind me has been a powerful way to connect to the concept of the power of my ancestors, which until relatively recently (some months? less than I year I am guessing) had eluded me.
Last night it occurred to me that this made a kind of "cone" formation, with me at the point (in fact if I had any descendents it would be a double cone, with another one spreading out from me), more poetically thought of as a spear or more lightly-flying arrow.
But more interesting still was the idea that arose that even without descendents, I am not an "endpoint"... the ancestors culminate in me in one sense, but in another they truly go through me... and the most curious bit was that after the mental "line" went through, it split into two halves and curled back towards what was behind me. (hard to describe this in words - I could draw a picture if you're not seeing it)
