Remember a while back I asked about why I wasn't seeing margin space in Word documents in Print view, and someone said "Check view settings, View white space between pages"? It turned out he was right, but I still hadn't figured out how it had gotten set to off in the first place, since I hadn't gone in and unchecked the box. Well, I just found out how. It can be turned on and off by clicking on the grey space that is the background behind the "page" at the bottom or top of the page. I probably managed to do it by mistake when clicking to place the cursor or something. How annoying.

That's called "intuitive user interface design." That means the programmer who coded it - and/or/very-likely-in-this-case the design team who decided upon it - thinks it makes perfectly obvious sense.

The chance that such interface controls are removed is nil - any programmer who notices it, gets annyoed by it, and mentions it is told that they just don't understand the user's needs.
