Okay... this Fire-something extension for Firebird/Firefox is really amusing me too. I'm currently browsing with Arcadia Elvendragon. (Randomly selected, too - although of course I loaded the selection lists with things that appealed to me more than "Super" and "pig".)

Hey, quick question: If you tell it to rewrite your User-Agent string, does it at least keep the "Gecko" part? Or does it do something like "keeps it by default, but if you want, you can completely rewrite the UA string, to say something like 'keep your snooping eyes off my browser string!'"?

Some of the stuff I'm doing for Freak Nation involves a browser sniff, but it mostly looks to see if it's using the Gecko rendering engine, rather than looking for "Firefox" itself. (Since it would then also need to look for "Firebird", "Phoenix", "Mozilla", and "Netscape" - just looking for "Gecko" is actually a lot easier!)

That tab in the options window says:

"If you'd like to let webservers know you're running a rebranded version of Mozilla Firefox, you can have your custom browser name automatically inserted into the User-Agent String.

(checekbox, off by default)

If you are concerned that some websites might not identify your browser correctly with the above feature enabled, you may also wish to add the original product name and version as a User-Agent "comment". The macros #name# and #version# will be replaced with the browser's original values.

(text box to enter comment)"

I'm not sure how to interpret that information to answer you're question (I know what you're asking, but don't know enough to tell if your answer is there or not).
