Most recently I saw
penguinboi, I think, doing the "explaining my interests" thing, so what the heck.
Adult Swim Cartoon shows for the slightly older crowd (TV14-ish), shown 11 pm to 2 am Sunday-Thursday on Cartoon Network. Dominated by Williams Street productions (e.g. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Space Ghost Coast to Coast) before midnight and anime (e.g. Inuyasha, Trigun) afterwards; Futurama and Family Guy are shown on weeknights. See website.
Amlie Film about odd French girl where the basic plot is that she makes little differences in people's lives, and finds a photo album and seeks to return it to its owner. There's more to it than that, though, but it needs to be seen to be understood. I happened to see it as an in-flight movie on Air Canada, although I had to put up with dubbing because I couldn't understand the French soundtrack and it wasn't subtitled like the magazine said it was going to be.
Andrew Chumbley Author of various books and articles dealing with the Sabbatic tradition of witchcraft, including Azoetia, the foundation text.
Angus Oblong Angus Oblong is the author of Creepy Susie: And 13 Other Tragic Tales for Troubled Children, which is the book on which the cartoon series The Oblongs (which showed up on Adult Swim after being cancelled elsewhere) was based. Weird visual style and vaguely twisted stories.
Apoptygma Berzerk Darksynth band massively overplayed in goth clubs. See website.
astral As in, the astral plane, the place one would usually visit in an out-of-body experience or "astral projection".
astronomy I have had an interest in both solar-system and stellar astronomy for a long time. I subscribed to Odyssey when I was a kid/pre-teen. I feel an acute kinship with stars and galaxies.
beauty In all its forms. The world needs more of this.
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! This of course is the Tim Burton flick, with all its wacky gothy elements and our friend Danny Elfman on soundtrack. I like the cartoon series too, but not as much as the movie.
Beltane I think my favourite holiday may actually be the Winter Solstice, but I like Beltane and May in general, especially for the faerie energy running strong at that time of year.
black clothes "And my homies agree, I really look good in black (fool!)." I actually started building up black clothing in high school, since as a theatre techie I needed to wear black on performance nights, but it didn't dominate my wardrobe until I started turning gothanese (I really think so) sometime in 1999.
blades Yay for shiny steel bits.
blood I actually have an off-again-on-again thing about blood and blood imagery and whether I find it erotic or whether I am squeamish, but this turns up in the list because of the former. I don't mean horror/gore kinds of things, but rather things like small cuts for "feeding"-type purposes.
boots "There is no cause. There is no movement. [Goths] just all like boots."
Brian Froud Surely you know? Celebrated faery artist. Work copied all over the net (both legally and illegally). Bunch of books, including Faeries and Good Faeries Bad Faeries. Website here.
