Man's view on Mount Diablo: Rename it for the Gipper
ffffffffffuuuuuuu---WHAT?
Look, I can understand that some may feel uncomfortable with things named after the Devil, although it's a time-honoured tradition all over the West. I can't think of any specific objections to changing it to Mount Miwok or Mount Ohlone (although I suppose I might think differently if I were a member of those tribes/bands!), except "why fix what ain't broke". But naming it after Ronald Reagan? And because he feels that besides "Diablo" being "derogatory and profane", the Devil is a "living person" who has not been dead at least five years and thus should also be ineligible to have monuments named after him (as Reagan was in 2005 when he first attempted this)??
And get a load of his fourth suggestion: Mount Yahweh. This perplexes me greatly. If he believes the Devil is a living person, why not God?
