The Canadian dollar briefly topped the US dollar today.

In other news, stabling and feed for four horses will shortly be required.

Allow me to express both my congratulations and extreme jealousy at your soon-to-be horse-owning (or feeding/stabling) status. I have adored horses my entire life and would still love to have (or have the use of) one (or several) but it will have to wait. Sigh. What are you getting? Tell tell!

The sad part is (says the guy who recently returned from a vacation to Maine), this won't change Canadian spending habits any. Time was, nobody bothered throwing Canadian money at Americans, because the exchange rates were so horrible; now nobody will dare throw Canadian money at Americans, because why waste actual cash when the Monopoly bills they're printing down South will do?
