Does anyone know of a simple DOS-window kind of BASIC interpreter that will run under Win98?

qbasic (http://download.microsoft.com/download/win95upg/tool_s/1.0/W95/EN-US/olddos.exe)?

(download to a new folder and run)

I had assumed qbasic was only executable under a real DOS environment.. it didn't occur to me to try it under later Windows. heh.

You could try one of the ones at allbasiccode.com, and see if any of those would work for you.

It seems such an odd request. Whyever would you need such a thing?

BASIC is the only language I know at all (I know.. blasphemy.. blasphemy.. I should at least learn C) and I want to have a simple random-number generator lest a certain java-applet webpage I currently use when I nee to pick a number between 1 and x randomly go away (given the nature of the web)...
