Sushi apparently is a minefield because something sold under the same name is not necessarily always the same species of fish. I think several things are sold as "tai", for example. "Maguro" without qualification might be bluefin or it could be yellowfin or other variety. According to the Monterey Bay Aquarium guide (http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/cr_seafoodwatch/download.aspx - there's a link specifically for sushi below the map, as well as the general west coast one), hamachi is out too, as is farmed Atlantic salmon (which is the salmon in every sushi restaurant I've ever been in) and imported farmed shrimp (which is a lot of them).
edit: Can't say I'm too sad unagi is on the bad list, too. Never have liked the stuff. Husband and I usually specifically avoid nigiri combinations because there's always this damn piece of eel and we both hate it, heh.

Thank you for letting me know about this.
