Okay, over last Wednesday through Saturday morning, some calculated blasting with various echinacea and zinc preparations (juice, fancy small-bottle supplement stuff, lozenges) plus 12 hours of sleep a day enabled me to ward off whatever was making me fuzzy-headed and scratchy-throated, and be in good health for the party that night. Now it seems that the slight congestion that would have gone with that slight illness has come in a delayed reaction, possibly brought on by drinking too much at said party (it didn't feel like too much, it was only about a pint of cider plus a few shots of Jaegermeister!) and thus having to convalesce with an unhappy tummy on Sunday, I've been blowing my nose too much last night and today. It's weird.
Maybe some more echinacea and zinc is in order (and I wish I could get my hands on an elderberry tincture, like a real one, not one I would make with the dried elderberries I have and some vodka), especially considering the things I am considering doing this weekend. There's someone on <a href="http://www.bluelight.nu>Bluelight</a> with the user name "young livers heal fast" (no joke!), but I certainly wouldn't want to push it. Note to self, take some milk thistle when I get home, just for good measure. I should learn to bring those along with me whenever I expect I will be drinking - even if it's placebo, they seem to help a bit with sobering and hangovers. I wish there were really something that seems to do as much good after alcohol as 5-htp and alpha lipoic acid seem to do after ecstasy.
