Student employee, as patron walks up to the desk: Hello, how may I help you?
Patron: By putting me out of my misery by putting a hole in my head. [insert bitching about finals week stress]
Employee: Would you like to be put on the waiting list?

Well, it was funny to me. See, during the middle of the day, from about 9:00 am til 3:00 pm, we are commonly constantly on a waiting list for the computers. So anyone who comes in at that time of day (and this particular patron is a frequent user of this lab, thus familiar with it) is likely to hear "Do you want to get on the waiting list?" when they request a computer.

I guess you have to work here.

*giggles* I found it pretty amusing even without the explanation myself.. I mean, maybe it's more entertaining to you, as you get to deal with it on a regular basis and so understand how it's particularly fitting there. The idea of a death waiting list just sounds cool. Although, maybe there is one already. I just hope my number is up fairly high.
