Does anyone know why the timestamps on my entries (and those of others) are properly respective local time, but the timestamps on comments are apparently GMT? Has this always been and I'm just unobservant? or is something screwy around here?
The timestamps on comments in journals using S1 display in the timezone of the LiveJournal servers, which is US Pacific Standard Time (-800 GMT) or, when applicable, US Pacific Daylight Time (-700 GMT). The timestamps on comments in journals using S2 display using the GMT timezone. The times on comments are automatically assigned when they are posted; there is no way to set or edit the time on a comment.
And since the S1 comments display is on Pacific time, which is your local time, it didn't catch your eye before switching to S2.
I sort of like the fact, however, that in a comment chain I can see the time sequence of responses without arithmetiking the time zone differences of different commenters.
