...probably just boredom. Via [livejournal.com profile] darkleaves.

Spell your first name backwards: asil
(wth? the point of this question is what, now?)

The story behind your lj user name: The first name of a pixie-being that I used to think of as a current semi-separate person that I could "shift" to (not in the sense of being a multiple, just a "mode" of me), but which for some time (along with others) has been in the category of "past/other life". No connection to "Tassadar" (I don't know who/what that is, even). No intentional connection to "Tass" from Mage: the Ascension, but the implications are amusing (and it sounds better than "Dross", the equivalent concept from Changeling: the Dreaming, in that case).Read more... )

After going through a whole bunch of rigmarole and hoo-hah with emulators and all kinds of crap to try to get some data off some Macintosh 800k disks that I found in my room, it turned out that I didn't actually want to keep anything that was on any of the disks. What was on there had passing amusement value, but that was it. I'm glad I found this out by just reading all the files with a Mac SE that happened to be stored across the hall (along with some other "junk" Power Macs and such), but I should have just thought of that first, rather than going to all the trouble of trying to find an appropriate bit of software.

Some of it brought back rather disturbing memories of my ex that I hadn't really wanted to unearth. I actually recalled the events contemporary with some of it (ca. 1996). The best line in the whole lot of it was from something he was working on called "AD&D 2000" (this was before third ed, I suppose?):

Beauty: This stat describes how cute you are before you open your mouth.

I just spent a few minutes trying to remember what the noun associated with sanitary was. The word I was looking for was sanitation, but for a while all I came up with was sanity.

Do you suppose, then, that "sanity" means having a clean mind --

-- perhaps even a sterile one?

This of course also brings up the secondary possibility of "Roger Wilco, Sanity Engineer" and that's just too terrifying to contemplate.

Would anyone local like to go to Deviation at any point? This isn't a plan for any specific date, just a general invitation/suggestion. I haven't been there since they changed to the new venue and I'd like to check it out sometime. Deviation is on first and third Tuesdays on Post St in San Jose (Waves is actually just down the street from Kleidon's).
