After going through a whole bunch of rigmarole and hoo-hah with emulators and all kinds of crap to try to get some data off some Macintosh 800k disks that I found in my room, it turned out that I didn't actually want to keep anything that was on any of the disks. What was on there had passing amusement value, but that was it. I'm glad I found this out by just reading all the files with a Mac SE that happened to be stored across the hall (along with some other "junk" Power Macs and such), but I should have just thought of that first, rather than going to all the trouble of trying to find an appropriate bit of software.
Some of it brought back rather disturbing memories of my ex that I hadn't really wanted to unearth. I actually recalled the events contemporary with some of it (ca. 1996). The best line in the whole lot of it was from something he was working on called "AD&D 2000" (this was before third ed, I suppose?):
Beauty: This stat describes how cute you are before you open your mouth.
