Those of you who know about my Canadian application and all... don't get too excited about that last post I made. I am only relieved that they actually are acknowledging that they received my application and created a file for me, as opposed to, I don't know, it having gone in the recycle bin. I'm a long way yet from actually being a permanent resident. They say it will take up to 52 more weeks (a year) for them to send me any assessment of my application, which is really what my potential immigration hinges on. It's not the time yet for welcome beavers (
kissspooky, this means you!).

Jul. 25th, 2003 05:01 pm"It's pretty clear that some lefties have missed their flights just because of things they've said," says Larry Pratt, executive director of the ultraconservative Gun Owners of America organization. "This kind of thing should not be happening to American citizens. I think there's something smelly about the explanations being given by the TSA."
When ultraconservatives don't agree with what the Bush administration has put in place, you got problems.
Salon article on a secretive "no fly" list here. (I normally don't bother with subscription news sites, but you can view the article if you look at a short Flash ad.)
