You have just won one million dollars:1. Who do you call first?
enotsola, most likely.
2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?House. Preferably in Kitchener. That'll show the consulate I mean business. ;) (Not to mention make that part of my life a lot easier.)
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?Hmm... new car for my father.
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?Yes, but not determined as to whom. Probably focused on environmental protection and/or reproductive freedom type organizations.
5. Do you invest any? If so, how?Yes, but I'd need advice on that. A million really isn't enough to invest in property in California, especially not if I've already spent $200,000 on another house and $20,000 on a car and given $50,000 of it away or whatever. (I'm assuming this is a million net, and not gross winnings, or the taxes I'd pay on them would further limit my options.) Probably wind up investing it in something that won't be worth anything for 35 years, but then, that's when I'd be needing it, so it works out.
