I'm awake way too early. Here I am at work, three hours earlier than usual. That, of course, corresponds with having gotten up three hours earlier than usual. And with trying to write "usual than early". Ungh. *sips coffee* (Actually, I was here at 8:30, which is 3:45 earlier than usual. I'm only just now getting around to complaining about it.)

So I'm walking out to my car in the parking garage after work last night, pondering whether I'm willing to pay the extra I'm likely going to wind up having to pay if I want the happy charcoal-grey interior and other bits of vanity that are only available on the S. I'm walking on the ground level looking down on my car below (the staff parking areas run slightly underground), and I thinks to myself, "Do I really want to do that?" and what had been hours of waffling was surprisingly replaced by "Yeah, I think I do."

So then I says to the car, "Hang on a second. Is it me who wants this, or you?"

My car is being kind of smug about it. Like it knew I would never really wind up buying that Nissan and now it can "reincarnate" and "grow up" at the same time.

How is it that the students they give the large workstudy grants to are always taking like 20 units and can only work a few hours a week, thus wasting most of the money (if it's not earned by the end of June, Financial Aid takes it back), whereas the students who are willing to work 10 or 12 hours a week have small grants that would only fund 4 to 6? Imps of the perverse, I tell ya.

Reading 3rd Edition (aka "Revised") Clanbook: Malkavian is really making me.. itchy... to play a Malk again. Not that I think I could do it justice at all, since the first/only time I did so (granted it was uh... two-plus years of LARP? the type of LARP plus my own sense of my lack of playing ability is what makes me say that) was bad enough itself, and in any case, at least seven years ago. But CB: Malk just makes me shiver and go yes, that's RIGHT the way other clanbooks don't. I have, at most, passing interest in them (Toreador most of all, 'asides Malkavian -- duh!).

Really, it reminds me of the time (er... 1996-1998 or so) when I was purposely talking to Malkav and sometimes invoking him along with Eris. Never mind that they seemed to get along; I feel a much deeper connexion to Malkav, again-never-mind that he's "fictional" (and in one of the sources most prone to ridicule (White Wolf), at that). 'Minds me of the "where fiction becomes reality" workshop that [livejournal.com profile] sethanikeem hosted at this past Kinvention North. In any case, it's a fact that I was purposely trying to reach out to him, to the point of drawing one of the few drawings in my entire college career that I don't hate, to portray him (I don't think I have it on my website at present; will be updated shortly if so).

I'm not sure where I was going with this, except to reminisce about a time when I believed in more things. Believing is good. You might be wrong but it's better to be wrong than to be dead, I think.

Watching the trailer for the next Harry Potter movie, which of course inclues the gryphon Buckbeak... Look, I gots nothin' about griffins particularly, but oooo, the flying, even in the tiny glimpses one gets in the trailer.

---

Sad that [livejournal.com profile] enotsola doesn't exist, but hey, i guess i can't expect everyone to exist until um.. 1 am ? What was that the last (local) time I called him? midnightish? Something like that.

Anyone have any clue what happened to [livejournal.com profile] enotsola? Last I heard from him he was "going off with [livejournal.com profile] kissspooky for coffee" or similar, which was um. Seven and a half hours ago?

Any clues, locals? Getting worried.

it's a silly song, but...

I'd flush myself right down the toilet
but I'd just clog up the drain
