Skipping the later weird bit which involved being (visiting?) in some apartment with some other person I can't remember and also Tom Dolen (one of the librarians here), last night's dream was kind of interesting. There was a roadway on a college campus, and next to it a fairly tall hill (a couple thousand feet?) which was coverd in a brownish-gold chaparral kind of stuff (as a lot of the area is in late summer, when everything has dried out - for example, drive up 680 in August). Partway up the side of the hill were two stone circles, maybe twenty? thirty? feet in diameter, laid out with smallish rocks, about eighteen inches across. The rocks were irregular, naturally worn lumps of stone, not cut or formed. The two circles were stacked vertically but not touching, like if you separated the two parts of a numeral 8 by about six or eight feet. They appeared to be up the rather steep slope some distance, but when you actually started to walk up towards them, you found they were almost immediately off the roadside. There was a red-haired girl there who I think was someone I took some art classes with at Sac State (there was mention at some point of dorm names which don't exist in actual fact - they were being called Jenny, Joel, and similar J-names), dressed in a black leather trenchcoat. The sky was overcast. I was there holding a wooden staff and there was some chatter among myself, red-hair, and an indeterminate (but smallish) number of other people about a ritual we were about to perform. I was playing the North/Earth part in this particular rite. (Odd, since I don't use that correspondence in my own personal practice.)

The Odin Brotherhood: A Non-Fiction Account of Contact with a Pagan Secret Society by Mark Mirabello

Thought some out there might be interested in this. It got a good review in the latest issue (#112) of The Cauldron, which I got in the mail today. (Interesting, since I was just looking at Mandrake's site yesterday in a totally unrelated capacity.) Another review here.
