WANT.

Stupid exchange rate (£1 = about US$1.80). I'm willing to pay $90 for the mirror, but I am shuddering to think what the shipping would cost me. I've sent off an email regardless. (Glutton? Punishment? Nah.)

Just wanted to ramble some thoughts I was having last night (while failing to sleep) about Fate/the Dark Goddess...

I was reading a website a while ago about "strange attractors", which, as I understand it, are mysterious shapes that show up in chaos mathematics when data that are thought to be random are plotted on a graph, but the points don't scatter as expected, but rather tend to clump together and form a particular pattern. The underlying shape "attracts" the data points until it is revealed. While appearing to be random, the data points are, in truth, emanations of a hidden mathematical formula; in a way, they are even inevitable, if one is able to see the "end result" the way we can with a graph.

Similar, I thought, is our place in the workings of Fate. We are data points and things often appear to be random or mysterious, but if we were able to step up a dimension and see the "plot of the graph", we would be aware of how all things are natural progressions from that "first cause" of the "formula", and thus how we fit into the pattern of the tapestry (ever notice that Cartesian coordinates are plotted in a warp-and-weft like woven cloth?).

Also, this informs understanding of "aspects" of Dame Dark, and of divine powers in general. The green earth is her gown; she is both heavenly and of the underworld. These seem analogous to our nature as "points", although in another dimension or reality; there is a hidden mystery behind them, a single originating essence, yet they are all distinct individuals. The traditional depiction of this power as three sisters, rather than the modern age-progression (maid-mother-crone), seems to me to hint at this: three beings which are the same, yet not
