*covers ears*
Feb. 15th, 2006 01:45 pmI totally support Mr. Singing Muslim Prayer Guy's right to do that in public, and I wouldn't dream of telling him to stop, but his vocal quality is really annoying, not to mention somehow loud/piercing enough that even though he is facing roughly in the opposite direction of where I am sitting, that his voice still comes all the way up from the Sunken Garden and through the walls and closed door. On top of that I don't like the melody line, either, which annoyance is compounded by the facts that (logically enough) it's the same song every time, and (also quite logically) he's singing it several times a day. (Usually I hear it twice, sometimes three times; I guess it depends on whether he is actually on campus at a given prayer time.)
That said, he beats most times I've heard Pagans trying to sing religious chants and stuff. I wonder if there are any groups out there that include vocal training as part of their usual course. (Not that I am any great shakes myself...)
