Kindred spirit indeed. Even one is usually enough for me to feel "ok, if I am crazy, at least I'm not alone in it." I know, in some sense, this is silly, and there are people out there who would laugh. But dammit, I feel it. And I don't want to be ashamed of feeling compassion, love, sorrow, grief, even if they are about a fictional character. They are not destructive emotions, dammit. They are ones that contribute to the human experience.

Why am I defending myself to an apparent compatriot? Probably because I am defending myself to myself.

DAMMIT SELF STOP FEELING BAD FOR THIS. It might be foolish. Emotions are foolish. It is certainly irrational. Emotions are irrational by definition. People who are in a more intelletcual space may make fun of you. They aren't in the right space to judge.

I(N/S)TJ shut up shut up shut up!!

Is there any compelling reason for me to shell out $90 to get copies of Office 2007 and Vista Business Edition (upgrade)? These are now available from my work's "Microsoft Campus Agreement" thingy. I don't particularly want to run Vista, but I suppose eventually there will be little choice. And I'm perfectly happy with Office 2003 and don't know what the design changes in 2007 amount to (I haven't ever seen it).

Recent DrakNet news post:

DrakNet would like to announce that it is formally thinking about formally endorsing Stephen Colbert for President of the United States.

1. A Lord of the Rings Pinball Machine in the Oval Office would lighten things up a bit.
2. Viggo Mortensen as Defense Secretary... I mean, come on! Who wouldn't want Viggo Mortenson as Defense Secretary?
3. Having a role player as President would lessen the chance of some uptight politician using the office to play a life-size game of "Risk" with the actual earth.
4. It'd be nice finally having a President that admits to it when he lies, and tell you straight out that he says things he doesn't mean.

We wish Mr. Colbert luck on his journey. It will be amusing as hell to watch. For more information, visit http://www.nofactzone.net , the premier Stephen Colbert news site.

I like #3. It makes me giggle.

There's someone on Barbelith posting under the name Medulla Oblongata.

I cannot get "When I Held Your Brain in My Arms" out of my head.

I used to love a lotta
Your medulla oblongata
And your basal ganglia...
