Feb. 1st, 2012 12:54 pmDoes anyone know of a Firefox addon that does what OpenBook does, but is compatible with later versions? Edit Bookmark Plus solves the problem of making the popup resizable (a MAJOR annoyance), but I can't make it remember my place in the bookmark tree, nor (much more importantly) does it allow me to configure which bookmark fields are shown in the popup - I want to be able to edit the Description field as I'm making a bookmark, not have to go into the Library to do it afterwards, and I don't use bookmark tagging so I don't want that field displayed (a more minor annoyance, though, as I can simply ignore it). I have extension compatibility checking turned off so it does run, but I think it is not playing well - scrolling through bookmarks seems to lag in some places and I occasionally notice other quirky behavior.
(Vaguely related: I wish there was a modern version of PatchForLibrary that fixed the bug about the details pane not persisting open in the Library [Bug 418141 – The Library should persist expanded details pane status]. PatchForLibrary's own page claims this was fixed in 3.1 and I see comments in this MozillaZine thread claiming all but one of the bugs it was intended to patch had been fixed by 3.5, but it has not been the case for me on any version of Firefox 3+.)
