to the power of the spirit
it will lay its mark upon thee
and give thee gifts untold,
the like thou never dream'st of
but having then received them
this secret truth to thee
will certain be revealed:
such other gifts shall pale
before that mark's soft glory
and the fact of it alone
shall become enough for thee.
I know what I'm talking about. Whatever you're thinking of, it stands a very good chance of being ... well, not wrong; this is poetry. But not the same thing.
