Today's random accomplished tedious task: Finished making Amazon wish list from the "high" section of my silly-huge "books I may want" spreadsheet (the section where I've collected the ones of more immediate interest). Not that most of you would have any cause to be buying me presents, but if anyone is getting a mad posh, I would like to state for the record that this is essentially a database and I prefer it if folks support independent booksellers and/or buy used from other private citizens as much as possible.

Your Amazon list says you're in Saratoga. Did I get it wrong that you're in Oakland or have you just not changed it? (I think changing location in the wish list is different than updating your shipping address)

Just haven't changed it. I am in Oakland, but only in the dorm. Saratoga is still the only "real" address. I'll make sure there's an Oakland shipping addy listed! ;)

And it's a good thing you mentioned that! I have the first two now, in hardcover and autographed. The first is actually signed by Misty, Larry, and Andre Norton, the second by Misty. Someone hasn't updated their wish list in a while!

The Way of Merlin: The Prophet, the Goddess and the Land by R.J. Stewart

I have a fairly extensive RJ Stewart list, lol, since I have an ongoing interest in his work and have started to attend his workshops (went to an Underworld Initiation one in May, and will be attending a Well of Light/Faery Healing one in about two weeks). Actually, it goes beyond that; I'm interested in trying to synthesize "traditional witchcraft" with "faery" in the context of "otherkin" (or variants), and this actually has been one of the most useful parts.

Deep Secret by Diana Wynne Jones (very good!!!)

This was recommended to me by gremliness along with A Sudden Wild Magic. I had the feeling one couldn't go wrong with a title like the latter. ^_^

The Pagan Religions of the Ancient British Isles: Their Nature and Legacy by Ronald Hutton

Is this as much of a "buckle down and just trawl through the data" kind of read as it sounds like it is, given that I've read Triumph of the Moon? (not that this dissuades me; I just like to know what I'm in for)

Hedge Witch: A Guide to Solitary Witchcraft by Rae Beth (not all its cracked up to be)

I kinda figured, but it still sounds like a book where I'd be able to get a few tidbits and thus is worth reading. Under other circumstances I'd say "find it in a library", but I seriously doubt I'd be able to do so half a world away from its publication.

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle

I'm pretty familiar with this, having watched the movie over and over since I was... um.. well, whenever it was in theatres (the Red Bull scared my young self shitless) and having read it for the first time a number of years ago. Just something I want to have in my collection to read again and again!

OMG, Peter S. Beagle is an amazing author. I have The Last Unicorn (the Red Bull gave me nightmares for years!), The Unicorn Sonata (hardcover and autographed!), The Folk of the Air, The Immortal Unicorn, and The Rhinocerous Who Quoted Nietzsche, just off the top of my head... oh, and I think I also have A Fine and Private Place... Would recommend anything he's ever written, he's an amazing author. But I said that already.

I actually didn't think The Folk of the Air was all that neat. Maybe I was just irked by the obvious SCA reference/parody in it. I get enough of that living with my mom *rolls eyes*.
