Me! I probably won't stay at the Doubletree though. I only live a couple of miles from there. I'm already all excited about P-con!

I've requested time off that weekend. My plans for the weekend aren't real clear yet, but I've been interested in going to PCon for a while.

If I express interest, would you be interested in helping me out with logistics? I'd be driving to San Jose and that's about all I'll really know until past New Year's; I'll need to stay in the hotel but I have no room arrangements (possibly unless I help [livejournal.com profile] lysana out with newsletter staff; not sure whether PCon houses staffers).

clarification

My question was actually a little more basic, and I'm just too brain-fried to ask it correctly since I'm trying to type all this on the fly in between worrying about novel snippets.

More background: This would be my first PCon. It's kind of intimidating because you can look in the dictionary under the word "eclectic pagan" and find a picture of me. I'm still a little gun-shy about attending an actual, y'know, spirituality convention. (Although my nice experience at Sac Pagan Pride helped, I think.)

The actual issue: I'm going to know about all of five people in attendance*, will be going by myself, and may be (generally speaking) skittish. When I say "logistics," I'm asking for help being able to fill up my weekend with cool things instead of sitting in the back of the room feeling uncomfortable at panels. ;)

Yes, hotel arrangements are a big part of that, since I'm not looking forward to spending $100/night when all I need is a corner to crash in. The reason my brain brought them up first is that I doubt I'll attend if I can't make *some* arrangements involving non-stranger roommates. But I'm not trying to beg. I've attended Bay Area cons for a decade (just not this one) and I'm pretty sure I can work something out before February.

If you have *active* interest in sharing a room, of course, speak up. :) And if you are actively looking for a roomie or know anyone in our friends circle who is, I'd love to know.

* Plus, to some small extent, everyone who staffs or attends both PCon and either/both of BayCon and FurCon. This is going to be a rather non-trivial-sized crowd, but I can't name names and I won't be able to count them as "people I know" until we actually meet in the hall and I say "Hey, I've met you!" You know how that goes. ;)
