AIM

Does anyone know how to force the background of my idle/away messages in AIM to be actually all black (and not just a black bar laid over a white background), the way the main message window is? I thought there was some trick to force it to recognize this by changing to black, hitting apply, blah blah some other things in a certain peculiar order, but I can't seem to work it out.

look at it this way - even if you *could* get it to work, it wouldn't look right on the window of anyone who isn't using the official AIM client.

which, given the geek quotient of your friendlist at least, is probably more than a few of em...

Trillian doesn't handle colours other than the standard white background?

Anyway, except under very unusual circumstances, I only AIM with enotsola, so this isn't an issue.

Can confirm, however, that it doesn't work in Proteus. Or Fire. Or Gaim. Or Adium. Or...

*shrugs* As I said, though, except under weird circumstances I only IM with enotsola, who does use the basic AIM client, so it's not a problem. I don't care what I look like to people who don't see me, heheh.
