At least one pair of the ducks that live in the vicinity of De Anza College has hatched their ducklings...

It's actually pretty hard for them to jump up the step from the ground to the fountain edge. The groundskeepers usually put a board or something leading from the water to the outside, because it's even harder for them to jump out of the water. While I was taking these pictures, one of them got stuck because it couldn't make the jump and its mama and papa and siblings had all gotten out and were walking away. Ducklings make the most piteous peeping noises when that happens! I wanted to help it, like I used to scoop frogs out of the swimming pool in Sacramento when they had gotten stuck there, but it swam away from me.

Looks to me like this bunch are playing Duck Duck Goose...

"Spread out, men!"

Normally I would say this was not well-exposed, but actually I kind of like the way the water is washed out in at the bottom left and the ducks are silhouetted against it.

RUN!!! IT'S MY NATURAL HAIR COLOUR!!! AAAAAAGH!
The lower parts of my hair are still washing out and are now a kind of odd dark pink colour in sunlight (still looks a kind of weird dark grayish-brown indoors). I need a trim, too. But this is where I'm at after not having dyed it since late last July.
