Is there a way to find out the date that a given key was added to the Windows registry?

Sorry, I suppose you didn't have any prior knowledge of my computer experience.

Anyway, that data doesn't seem to be in regedit, which is why I was asking the question. It is not stored within the keys themselves, I can't seem to change what columns are displayed in the right pane like one can folder displays, and I don't see any menu option that would reveal this information.

I found one post on a bboard asking this same question and someone recommended some kind of third-party thing, which says to me there is not a direct Windows way to do it, but I thought I would ask.

Export the key as a text file. The "last modified date" will be present there.

Sure, but it's the date I exported the key to a text file. (yes, I tested this, since it was something I hadn't thought of...)
