Slightly surprisingly, the reunion was lots of fun and I really had a good time. It came back to me this morning that ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
klomdac had said she had a livejournal of that name, so through her I tracked down mullivan and a couple others who were there. A good number of us are still in the area and I'm pleased to hear (but also kind of embarrassed for myself) that some folks have gone on into graduate studies. Most of us (that I had any clue about anyway) look pretty much the same except for being older, although I think Waleed got the prize for being unrecognizable without his nametag.
Tip for the future: Macallan whisky is really expensive if you buy it in bars. I paid $8 for one drink of it in the bar next door to Tied House that we stopped into around 12:00 (?), and they were charging $8.50-$9 at Tied House itself (2 Macallans + 1 rum and coke = $22.25, poor Marina, we hadn't known we weren't supposed to go to the main bar). Yikes. Sure, the stuff is $40 a bottle, so I shouldn't be surprised, but yikes anyway. I dunno what Sarah had to pay for the two shots of Tully formullivan and me, but surely not that much.
Also, the Britannia Arms on Santa Clara Street in San Jose is a very scary place. Matt and his girlfriend decided to go there and dance but besides the fact that they were at capacity, by the time the rest of us trundled over, we were mostly too scared to go in and just stood around outside waiting for people to come out. I was ok with the hip-hop the DJ was spinning as it was actually music and not the variety people seem to like to blare out of their cars, but the people were like some kind of freak show. O.o
